What does CADTH use Wicket for?
What integrations do they use?
Since 1989, the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH) has been providing Canada with a coordinated approach to assessing health technologies. CADTH is a not-for-profit organization that provides the decision-makers in health-care with the objective evidence to make evidence-based decisions about health technologies.
Always looking to grow, CADTH is customer-driven; they’re always striving to provide their customers with the best possible customer experience. This drive has lead CADTH to become technological innovators, offering a suite of applications that help healthcare professionals assess technology.
CADTH first came to Wicket after they launched their new website and they were looking to enhance their omnichannel customer experience. They wanted to provide a more holistic, uniform experience by allowing customers to use one login to sign into all of the applications they offer and update their profiles in one place.
CADTH customers and team members were using multiple logins for the suite of applications.
Before WicketNow CADTH customers and team members can use one login to sign into multiple applications.
After WicketWhen CADTH’s Web Systems Manager, Paul Ting, discovered Wicket’s powerful customer and contact management database, he quickly realized this would be a perfect match, “Single-sign-on (SSO) was the key resonating feature. With that, we knew we could provide better access to all of our applications, new and old, by allowing customers to log in using a single login”.
This has had a significant impact on CADTH’s team as well. With SSO, the team can log in to most of their applications using one password, and they’re assured access, even when they’re off-site.
“We’ve seen huge improvements since we started with Wicket. Especially my team because we have so many places to log in. Now because it’s the same sign-on, I can easily access it with one username and password. My team certainly sees the benefit when they’re quickly jumping from one platform or tool to another,” Paul said.
CADTH also tightly integrated their Drupal website with Wicket, allowing customers to manage their profile information through Wicket’s API with a seamless user experience.
Wicket is also uniquely integrated with the Canadian Medical Imaging Inventory. This is a custom web application database that inventories medical imaging from healthcare institutions across Canada. This integration not only provides SSO to its users, but it also allows CADTH to understand participant activities better as each is tracked with the touchpoints feature.
Another critical improvement Wicket has made to CADTH’s process is its integration with MailChimp. Wicket holds all the core subscriber data and synchronizes that data with MailChimp in real time, eliminating the need for any manual updates to subscriber lists.
Wicket has taken on a core part of CADTH’s digital strategy as they plan to enhance their current subscription that will allow them to maintain more of their data points all within Wicket’s database.
Q: What advice would you give another organization who is in a similar position you were before you started using Wicket?
“Always do your homework to understand what you’re trying to achieve, but I don’t know of any other tools that can tie systems the way Wicket can.”
